<p>The Basic Rules:<br />
Held usually in a separate area of the Casino, a Baccarat game will include a table roughly the size of a crap table, three dealers and anywhere from 12-14 players. In the game there are only three results; Banker, Player and Tie. </p>
<p>The Baccarat cards are also different than that of other games. In Baccarat value an Ace is 1, the cards 2 to 9 are counted at face value and the 10’s, Jacks, Queens and Kings are valued at Baccarat, or in other words, zero. </p>

Bets are placed by the players, including the players that choose to deal on the Player, Banker or the Tie. The player that deals hold what is called Shoe, and so long as the bank keeps winning, the player keeps holding the Shoe, as soon as the bank losses, this Shoe pass onto the next player. A dealer can also choose not to deal at by default the Shoe falls onto the next player. </p>
<p>Two hands will be dealt and a player will choose and bet on which he or she thinks will be the winning hand or a tie. Each hand consists of a minimum of 2 cards and a maximum of 5 cards. </p>
<p><strong>The Card Values</strong><br />
The combined value of the cards must never exceed the number 9, therefore is a player gets an 8 and a 3, the combined value of this number, in this case 11 will have 10 subtracted from it leaving the score at 1. The highest score obtainable is a 9, and the next best hand is an 8. </p>
<p>If a player so happens to land a hand of 8 or 9 then no other cards are issued. If the end score is the same total on both ends, then it’s a tie. </p>
<p><strong>The Game</strong></p>
<p>At this point the dealer places 2 cards face down in front of the players, under the shoe and the largest bet on Player gets another two cards, also facedown. The player looks at the cards and then hands them back to the dealer.<br />
After this, all the cards are opened and the casino announces the winner. </p>
<p><strong>Additional Information</strong><br />
Whenever a player bets on the Bank a tax is charged, and that tax amounts to 5% of the bet. This is because the chances of the Bank winning are a good 2 to 3 times higher than that of a Player winning. So to even things out, the tax is placed on the player betting Bank. </p>
<p>There are several different types of Baccarat or variants of the game; baccarat chemin de fer, baccarat banque and  punto banco and each game comes with slight differences in ruling. </p>
<p><strong>Improving Your Game</strong><br />
There are some basic guidelines you can follow to improve your game of Baccarat. One of these is the highest chance you have of winning a game is by placing your bet on the Bank, if you are holding an 8 deck shoe your advantage will be great. The tie is the least promising, even with its 8:1 payoff.<br />
For the highest odds at Baccarat play at tables with only 1 Baccarat (zero), at tables with doubles zeros (00) the chances of your winning fall quite drastically.<br />
The French have a term, Avant Dernier, meaning ‘before last’. That’s exactly what you do; place your bet always on the hand that won before the last hand. This means that if the winning hands so far were Player, Banker, Player, you would place your bet on Banker. </p>

The basic idea is to place a single unit wager on any outside bet that pays even odds. For instance High or Low, Black or Red, Even or Odd. You will continue placing a wager on the exact same bet throughout the session of Roulette.</p>
<p>It does not matter what the single unit is worth &#8211; $1, $5, $10, etc., so long as you have a large enough bankroll to continue wagering for quite some time. At least 50x the single unit amount is recommended, but the higher the better, just in case you hit a long slump.</p>
<p>If you Win – Place another single unit wager in the same place.</p>
<p>If you Lose – Double your bet amount and re-place the same bet.</p>
<p>Even if you lose three or more times in a row, by continuing to double your bet amount, when you do win, you will always come up with a profit. Once you win, always start back with another single unit bet, pocketing all other chips.</p>

You place a $1 bet on Red. You win, giving you $2. You’ve made a $1 profit.</p>

You place a $1 bet on Red, and the winning number is Black. You’ve lost $1. Now, place a $2 bet on Red. Again, the winning number is Black. You’ve lost $3 total. Next, place a $4 bet on Red. The winning number comes up Red, you get back your original $4 bet (which is not counted as profit), plus $4 for the win. Subtract the $3 you’ve already lost, and you end with a $1 profit.</p>
<p>By pocketing the profit every time and starting over with a single unit bet after each win, you will always come out on top. Doing this for several hours straight with $1 bet units can easily result in a $50-$200 profit, depending on how often you win.</p>
<p>As we mentioned above, the Martingale Roulette System is considered minimally profitable, since you are spending a good deal of time to make $1 a profit per win. But as a guaranteed winner at Roulette, you simply can’t beat it.</p>

<p>Charles Fey distributed his slot machines to saloons and bars in the area, agreeing to split the profits 50/50 with the owners. Slot machines became so incredibly popular that Fey alone, working out of his little shop, could not work fast enough to meet the growing demand. Mills also succeeded in making a more mobile slot machine, cutting down the weight substantially since the Liberty Bell weighed in at more than 100 pounds.</p>
<p>The slot machine business hit a major slump in 1909 when San Francisco outlawed their use, followed by the entire state of Nevada the same year. Slot machines were banned throughout California by 1911. They made their comeback in the 1930’s, though, as Nevada legalized slot machines for use in Las Vegas.</p>
<p>Mills Novelty began creating more slot machines with variable themes, which struck a new chord with players. They appreciated the variety and slot machines became even more popular. It also helped that Mills Novelty was able to develop slot machines that were much quieter to run than the original design.
